Rabbi Bryan Borenstein, widely known as Rabs, was born and raised in the Valley. After attending YULA, he spent a year and a half in Israel studying at Yeshivat Ohr Yerushalayim. Upon returning to the United States, he continued his learning at Yeshivat Torah M’Tzion while attending Touro College, where he received a degree in Business Management.
Rabs has dedicated nearly eight years to the Orthodox Union, serving first as OU-JLIC Director of The Valley, where he launched the inaugural campus program alongside his wife, and later as a Community Engagement Professional for OU-JLIC West. He is known for inspiring and connecting with people, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and empowered. OU-JLIC, a key initiative of the Orthodox Union, places directors at secular college campuses to support Jewish students with Torah study, Shabbat meals, and personal and halachic guidance.
After devoting significant time to empowering college students and young professionals, Rabs is eager to shift his focus towards enriching the lives of Jewish teens. As a former NCSY participant in the West Coast region and later a volunteer advisor and guest speaker for the Mid-Atlantic and New York regions, he sees this opportunity as a meaningful homecoming. As the newly appointed Regional Director of West Coast NCSY, Rabs looks forward to building upon the strong foundation already in place and fostering the Jewish growth of teens along the West Coast!
