Project Community (PC20)

Launching across the US and Canada on July 6th, in conjunction with the Orthodox Union’s (OU) signature programs – NCSY, Yachad and OU-JLIC – PC20 offers teens fun, connection and the hallmark Jewish learning associated with the OU. Innovative volunteer squads bring caring and support to local communities while the Yachad-specific program offers teens and Yachad members a bespoke opportunity to build meaningful relationships while experiencing a fulfilling summer.

Chesed Power Squads connect teens and college students to seniors, special needs families, single parents, and people dealing with the impact of COVID-19 to offer assistance, simcha, respite and friendship.

“PC20 is for teens, college students and Yachad members looking for a meaningful and exciting summer experience.”

PC20 engages college students as advisors to inspire participating teens. PC20 also provides opportunities to take part in virtual Beis Midrash programs and in Teach Coalition’s Advocacy Fellowship, where they will put new skills to use in fellowship designed GOTV projects.

PC20 is the OU’s emergency platform to help teens, families and vulnerable communities emerge out of the COVID-19 pandemic with friendship, a sense of togetherness, and the beginning of a positive new normal for everyone.

Programs will vary from city to city and will be run in accordance with state and local health requirements, with appropriate PPE, hand-washing practices and social-distancing standards.
