In this week’s Parsha, Jacob and his family finally arrive in Egypt. Jacobs’s son, Joseph, takes Jacob to meet Pharaoh, the first thing that Pharaoh asks Jacob is “How many are the days of the years of your life?” of all things Pharaoh can ask Jacob why is it that he wants to know his age? We learn that Pharaoh was not asking Jacob his age rather he was asking him a completely different question. Pharaoh was asking Jacob how many days of his life has he actually lived to the fullest, because in the end of the day those days are the days that will actually determine his life.
Today we are all so busy doing things in our daily lives that we are too busy to actually enjoy our time on earth. From this week’s Parasha we should learn to really take every opportunity we can and truly live everyday to the fullest because in the end of the day those are the days that will truly count.
Shabbat Shalom 🙂
