Bay Area (NorCal) Chapter

NCSYer of the Month: Sophia Gluck

Sophia Gluck, a senior at the Jewish Community High School of the bay, is now in her 6th year of NCSY – and NCSY knows it. Sophia, who is a natural leader, has been a huge advocate for NCSY her entire teenage life. She was on the board as a sophomore as Events Coordinator, Co- president with Shoshana Edelman as a Junior, and is now on Regional Board to wrap up her last year of high school. Sophia’s passion for Judaism has added so much to the East Bay Chapter, and completely deserves the title of NCSYer of the century!

City Chapter

Natan Zman

NCSYer of the Month: Natan Zamanzadeh

When I think about “going the extra mile”, I always think of Natan. Though he looks quiet, he is far from it. He is always making sure he knows what the next event is and asking what else he can do to help. Natan is a perfect example of “Lefnim Meshuras Hadin”  making sure he is always first in and last out. Natan is a pleasure to have as a leader and board member. Watching him grow week in and week out has been an absolute pleasure. I can’t wait to see what happens as Natan takes his skill to ICE EURO this summer!

NCSYer of the Month: Tal Facher

As a Freshman in the Adelson Educational Campus, Tal Facher is making a tremendous difference in Las Vegas NCSY. Tal’s passion will be the cause of a brighter future for the entire city of Las Vegas. With his very own projects, such as “Sweets on the Streets” and many others on the way, Tal has shown himself to be a true light unto the nations. Through his determination and leadership, there is no doubt he will receive the necessary support to carry out all the good he has in store for us.

On behalf of Las Vegas NCSY,

Thank You Tal!

Orange County Chapter

Mtana

Chapter NCSYer: Matana Zwiren

Matana is a stellar example of what it means to be an NCSYer.  Matana is a true ba’alat middot and is always looking how to give to others in need.   Everyone who knows can see that her future is bright and nothing can stop Matana from doing amazing things!

NCSYer of the Month: Sammy Schnitzer

Sammy has been deserving of this award for a long time. Coming off of a summer on TJJ, she has been as devoted to pNCSY as anyone can be. Sammy is always in attendance at every event we run. Whether it be a Latte and Learning, Pizza and Parsha or a Shabbaton, she always comes with a bright smile on her face!

NCSYer of the Month: Eli Milstein

Eli has been consistently involved as a leader in NCSY since his 9th grade year. Eli is a founding member of our salmon fishing men’s club and also the designer for our new “Real Life of Chula Vista” program. This past month I have seen Eli mature tremendously, he has begun to realize the significance of his actions and his words and is trying very hard to develop himself into a refined individual. I see tremendous potential from Eli as he keeps on this path of learning, thinking, praying and growing…he is a special soul. Best. Eli. Ever.

Seattle Chapter

Seattle NCSYer of the Month: Richelle Willner Martin

Richelle took it upon herself to start a JUMP (Jewish Unit Mentoring Program) club for Jewish High and Seattle NCSY. While most cities took a team to the conference, Richelle went by herself and together with Advisor Corrine Malachi made an impact on all who attended. Richelle brought the program back to Seattle and almost as soon as she was off the plane she was on her way to help cook for the upcoming Seattle Shabbaton. Richelle is now working on having her school partner with NCSY on the JUMP program. Richelle was also one of the first people to sign up for a summer on NCSY’s Euro ICE program.

West Valley Chapter

NCSYer of the Month: Marissa York

Marissa is a senior and despite just starting NCSY she has already made a huge impact in the West Valley Chapter. Marissa took action contacting the West Coast NCSY office and by doing so started the JSU club at Valley Academy for Arts and Sciences. Furthermore, she has been a driving force in recruiting students for the new Northridge Latte N’ Learning. As the year progresses we can’t wait to see what Marissa has in store for us next.
