NCSYer of the Month: Eli Benzaquen

Eli has been a rising star in the City chapter. I would refer to him as “The Silent Killer”, since everything he does seems to go unnoticed. Not Anymore! Eli’s growth has really shown over the last few months, not only in attendance and participation but commitment to grow a little more every day. Just looking at Eli one would think he is shy and quiet but how wrong they are, Eli makes noise with his actions! Making sure NCSY is a Household name in his school and community, Eli continues to put forth 100% effort in every capaCITY (hehe).

Eli I have only had the pleasure of knowing you for a handful of months but what you have shown is tremendous. We can’t wait to see what you do in the seconds half of this year and the rest of your high school career!

NCSYer of the Month: Haddar Ben-Shimon

Haddar’s gentle yet bright energy is incredibly contagious. She has brought countless new teens to join the excitement in NCSY and always makes sure they leave with a smile as wide as her own. We are proud of her achievements on Las Vegas Board and look forward to her many more accomplishments. On behalf of the entire Chapter we thank and recognize Haddar Ben-Shimon for making Las Vegas NCSY the most welcoming family in the Country!

NCSYer of the Month:Louis Teitelbaum

Louis Teitelbaum has been in NCSY for many years now. He is one of those guys that everyone can look up to; always polite and in a good mood. He is outspoken about his opinions (and he has good opinions) and will always stand up for what’s right. Louis is a self driven teen, and takes his Judaism very seriously. He is one of the 3 teens out of his entire high school that wears a kipa to school. Louis comes to as many NCSY events as he can, and has a weekly chavruta with Advisor Moshe Lehmann on Mesechet Brachot (they have almost finished 10 pages!!). Kol hakavod Louis – keep it up and keep inspiring us!

Orange County Chapter

berdy

NCSYer of the Month: Aaron Berdy

Aaron is an amazing NCSYer, dedicated chapter board member, and summer program veteran.  At learning events, Aaron always has a quick grasp of the subject matter.  In addition to being one of the smartest kids, Aaron is also one of the kindest teens you’ll meet.  Aaron is always the first to make a new teen feel welcome at events.  He exemplifies what a true NCSYer should be.

Portland Chapter

victoria kuitert

NCSYer of the Month: Victoria Kuitert

Victoria is most deserving of this award! She is currently the president of Lincoln JSU, one of Oregon NCSY’s most successful clubs. Victoria works hard recruiting new Jewish teens to the club. She is also the flyer designer for all of the clubs across the city. But most importantly, Victoria does not stop there. She consistently brings new teens from her club to other NCSY events. Congratulations!

NCSYer of the Month: Shira Puterman

Shira first came on NCSY by attending TJJ. She came back from the trip newly minted as one of our most committed NCSYers. She then transferred from public school to Northwest Yeshiva High School for her Junior year. She is now on chapter board and a founding member of our JUMP program. She spent last summer on TJJ Plus and will be going on Euro ICE this summer.

Valley Chapter

NCSY of the Month: Justin Feldman

Valley NCSY welcomed Justin to our family a few years ago.  He started his freshman year very involved with his JSU Club at Cleveland HS and attending DNL.  Justin always has a smile and a kind word to share.  He is determined to be part of NCSY and JSU so much, that he even takes the bus to most events.  At our most recent Tu B’Shvat Seder Justin (and his Holy Mother) came ready to share kabbalistic insights and Dvrei Torah. We look forward to seeing Justin on Valley Board soon!

NCSYer of the Month: Maurice Cohen

Maurice Cohen is someone that shows up on a consistent basis and contributes to every conversation. Maurice has been coming to Latte N’ Learning and going to JSU club ever since he found out about NCSY in the beginning of last year. All the more so, he is always attending Shabbat events, and NCSY get-togethers. On the strength of his consistency, Maurice will be a pillar in NCSY for years to come.
